Description

The Ubiquiti PBE-M5-400-AU is a 5 GHz airMAX outdoor wireless bridge with an integrated 400 mm, 25 dBi dish antenna. It delivers 150+ Mbps throughput for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint CPE links, and this Australian-region SKU includes an AU plug PoE adapter. A single Gigabit Ethernet port carries data and passive PoE power to the unit.

The airMAX TDMA protocol removes hidden node collisions to improve latency, throughput and scalability, while intelligent QoS prioritises voice and video traffic. The integrated InnerFeed design eliminates antenna cabling, and the UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure is built for outdoor deployment, with a pole mount included.

FAQs

Q: What frequency band does the PBE-M5-400-AU operate on?
A: It operates in the 5 GHz band and pairs with other 5 GHz airMAX equipment for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links.

Q: What is included in the box?
A: The PowerBeam M5 400 ships with a pole mount and a 24V, 0.5A gigabit PoE adapter. This -AU SKU includes the Australian plug adapter.

Q: How is the unit powered?
A: It uses passive 2-pair PoE over the Gigabit Ethernet port, with a supported voltage range of 20-27V DC and a maximum power consumption of 8W.

Q: What does the 400 mm, 25 dBi antenna mean for range and alignment?
A: The integrated 400 mm dish provides 25 dBi of gain with uniform beamwidth for improved noise immunity. It suits longer outdoor links than smaller integrated CPE units.

Q: Is it suitable for harsh outdoor conditions?
A: Yes. It has a UV-stabilised polycarbonate enclosure, is rated for operation from -40 to 70 C and has wind survivability of 200 km/h.

Q: Does it need separate antenna cabling?
A: No. The InnerFeed design integrates the feed into the dish, so no external antenna cabling is required.
