This industrial-grade BiDi transceiver operates over a single strand of single-mode fibre and is plug-and-play compatible with Cisco 10G SFP+ platforms. - IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-BX10-D compliance guarantees interoperability with any standards-compliant BiDi upstream device - SFP+ form factor, 10.3125 Gbps data rate, single-mode fibre, 10km maximum reach, 1330nm transmit / 1270nm receive wavelengths - Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) support via SFF-8472 provides real-time access to temperature, bias current, optical power, and supply voltage - Industrial operating temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius for harsh environments - Simplex LC connector with integrated WDM splitter enables bidirectional transmission on a single fibre strand - Must be deployed in pairs with a complementary 10GBASE-BX10-U transceiver (1270nm TX / 1330nm RX)

Q: What is the difference between BXD-I and BXU-I, and why does it matter?
A: BXD-I is the downstream variant (1330nm TX / 1270nm RX) and BXU-I is the upstream variant (1270nm TX / 1330nm RX). These wavelengths are deliberately reversed to enable full-duplex communication over a single fibre strand. You must always pair a BXD with a BXU device. Connecting two BXD or two BXU transceivers will not establish a link.

Q: Can I use this transceiver over OM3 or OM4 multi-mode fibre?
A: No. This transceiver operates at 1330nm and 1270nm wavelengths and requires OS2 single-mode fibre (G.652). Multi-mode fibre (OM3, OM4) is designed for 850nm or 1300nm VCSEL sources and will not support the reach or wavelength plan of this BiDi optic. Use only single-mode fibre.

Q: Does this module support CPRI for fronthaul applications?
A: Version -02 of the Cisco SFP-10G-BXD-I supports CPRI datarate options 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7a, and 8. The SFP-10G-BXD-I-BCC is designed for 10G Ethernet applications and standard 10.3125 Gbps serial data. If CPRI support is required for radio or baseband units, confirm your specific CPRI line rate requirement before ordering.
