At 10G, the lower symbol rate provides sufficient margin without FEC. Your switch must enable RS-FEC on the host port for full 25G performance.

Q: Can I mix this module with 10G optics on the same link?
A: No. Both ends of the fibre link must use matching data rates. This module can operate at either 10G or 25G, but the peer module must be set to the same rate. The dual-rate capability is for deployment flexibility within your network, not for connecting mismatched speeds on a single span.

Q: What is the difference between PC and UPC connectors, and does it matter?
A: PC (Physical Contact) and UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) both refer to the endface polish of the LC connector ferrule. UPC has lower return loss due to a finer polish. This module supports both PC and UPC connectors. APC (Angled Physical Contact) connectors are not supported, as confirmed in the Cisco datasheet, because the 8-degree angle is incompatible with the transceiver's optical design.
