Description

The CP-138U is an 8-port RS-422/485 universal PCI serial board for POS, ATM and industrial applications where reliable multiport serial connectivity is needed. Its 32-bit Universal PCI interface supports both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI buses as well as PCI-X, and each port connects through a DB62 female connector with baudrates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps. This version has no isolation and operates from 0 to 55°C.

Built around the MU860 communication controller (16C550C compatible) with a 128-byte FIFO and hardware and software flow control, the board delivers over 700 kbps of data throughput. Up to 8 boards can be installed in a single PC, with drivers available for Windows, Linux and UNIX, and per-port Tx/Rx LEDs simplify maintenance.
