FAQs

Q: What makes this a Copilot+ PC?
A: The Surface Laptop 13-inch (1st Edition) is certified as a Copilot+ PC because its Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor includes the Intel AI Boost NPU, delivering 50 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of on-device AI performance. This enables Copilot+ PC exclusive features such as Recall, Cocreator, and Live Captions with real-time translation — all processed locally for privacy and speed.

Q: Is the SSD replaceable or upgradeable?
A: Yes. The 512 GB Gen 4 SSD is removable, which is a significant advantage for enterprise deployments. IT departments can retain drives for data compliance during device refresh cycles, and authorised service partners can replace drives without replacing the entire unit.

Q: What security features does this laptop include for business use?
A: This Surface Laptop is a Secured-core PC featuring the Microsoft Pluton security chip for chip-to-cloud protection, Windows Hello face authentication for passwordless sign-in, BitLocker drive encryption, and firmware-level protections. These features meet the stringent requirements of enterprise security frameworks including Zero Trust architectures.

Q: How does IT manage and deploy this device at scale?
A: The Surface Laptop for Business supports Microsoft Intune for mobile device management and Windows Autopilot for zero-touch provisioning, allowing IT teams to remotely configure and deploy devices straight out of the box — without hands-on setup for each unit.

Q: What wireless connectivity does this laptop support?
A: The Surface Laptop 13-inch (1st Edition) supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4, providing the latest generation of wireless performance with improved throughput, lower latency, and better performance in high-density wireless environments — ideal for modern open-plan offices and hybrid workplaces.
