Description

The MX Series MIC (Modular Interface Card) with 2x40GE QSFP+ delivers 80 Gbps full-duplex throughput for high-density WAN and core aggregation deployments. Designed to install into MPC3E Modular Port Concentrators on Juniper MX Series routers — including the MX240, MX480, MX960, MX2008, MX2010, and MX2020 — this MIC provides two 40-Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ ports for high-performance connectivity at the network edge and core. QSFP+ optics are sold separately, allowing flexibility in reach and media selection.

Supporting Synchronous Ethernet, IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, VRRP, optical diagnostics, and RMON EtherStats, the MIC3-3D-2X40GE-QSFPP integrates seamlessly into existing MX Series infrastructures running Junos OS (first supported release 12.2). When used with compatible MPCs, it contributes to aggregate WAN bandwidths of up to 200 Gbps per MPC slot, making it a scalable choice for service providers and enterprise core networks.
