Description

The Juniper ACX7100-32C-LDC-AO is a 1U fixed cloud metro router with 4.8 Tbps forwarding capacity, built for dense 100GbE fan-out with 400GbE uplinks. This variant is DC powered with front-to-back airflow (AFO) and ships with the limited-feature (LDC) software licence, making it suited to telco and data centre racks that run on -48 to -60 VDC.

The ACX7100-32C provides 32 x 100GbE QSFP28 ports (also supporting 40GbE QSFP+) and 4 x 400GbE QSFP56-DD multi-rate ports, running Junos OS Evolved. It is designed for the IP service fabric in cloud metro, aggregation and edge deployments, with a thermal design that supports high-power ZR/ZR+ coherent transceivers on all supporting ports.

- Runs Junos OS Evolved
- Thermal design supports high-power ZR/ZR+ coherent transceivers on all supporting ports
- Hot-swappable, field-replaceable fans and power supplies
- MACsec support on all ports
- PTP grandmaster clock support (1GbE via QSA adaptor on port 31)
- Designed for the IP service fabric in cloud metro, aggregation and edge deployments

FAQs

Q: What power input does the ACX7100-32C-LDC-AO use?
A: This variant uses dual redundant DC power supplies rated for -48 to -60 VDC (1600 W, dual feeds). It is not an AC-powered model.

Q: What does AFO mean in this part number?
A: AFO denotes front-to-back airflow. The six fan modules (5+1 redundancy) draw air through the front of the chassis and exhaust it at the rear.

Q: What does the LDC licence level mean?
A: LDC indicates the limited-feature software licence included with this SKU. It runs Junos OS Evolved, with the licence tier determining the available feature set.

Q: What port speeds does the ACX7100-32C support?
A: It provides 32 x 100GbE QSFP28 ports (which also support 40GbE QSFP+) and 4 x 400GbE QSFP56-DD multi-rate ports. With breakout, it can reach up to 48 x 100GbE, 96 x 50GbE or 80 x 25GbE/10GbE.

Q: Can it run coherent ZR/ZR+ optics?
A: Yes. The thermal design supports high-power ZR/ZR+ coherent transceivers on all supporting ports.

Q: Are the fans and power supplies replaceable in the field?
A: Yes. The fans and power supplies are hot-swappable and field-replaceable, so they can be changed without taking the router offline.
