Description

The HPE MSA 2070 SFF 16Gb Fibre Channel storage array is a 2U, 24-bay small form factor block storage system from the MSA Gen7 family. This controller-only configuration includes dual controllers with four 16Gb FC host ports each (eight per array) and is supplied without drives or transceivers, so you can populate it with the SFF SSDs or 10K HDDs that suit your workload.

The array supports RAID NRAID/0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and MSA-DP+, with 48 GB of data cache and system memory per array. It scales through up to nine 12Gb SAS expansion drive enclosures, reaching 240 SFF drives and 7.37 PB raw capacity, and includes automated tiering, thin provisioning, snapshots and volume copy for entry-level SAN and virtualisation deployments.

Q: Does the P89066-B25 include drives?
A: No. This is the controller-only configuration, supplied without drives or transceivers. You add compatible MSA Gen6/Gen7 SFF drive carriers with SSDs or 10K HDDs, plus the FC transceivers or cables you need.

Q: How many host ports does this array have?
A: It has two controllers with four 16Gb Fibre Channel host ports each, giving eight 16Gb FC host ports per array.

Q: Can I expand the capacity later?
A: Yes. The array supports up to nine expansion drive enclosures over 12Gb SAS, for up to 240 SFF drives and 7.37 PB raw capacity per array. LFF and SFF enclosures can be mixed.

Q: Which RAID levels are supported?
