The NS204i-u v2 960GB NVMe SED hot-plug boot optimised storage device is a dedicated OS boot solution for HPE ProLiant Gen11 and Gen12 servers. It holds two enterprise-class 960GB NVMe M.2 self-encrypting SSDs, pre-configured in hardware RAID 1 so the operating system is mirrored from first power-on. It installs in a dedicated internal slot, so it uses no PCIe slot and needs no cables or backplanes.

Because the boot volume sits on its own device, front drive bays stay free for data storage. Native in-box NVMe drivers are supported across Windows, Linux and VMware, and self-encrypting drive technology protects data at rest. The NS204i-u enablement kit is required for installation.
