This 8SFF x1 U.3 Tri-Mode drive cage kit is a front drive cage option for the HPE ProLiant Compute DL580 Gen12 4U rack server. It holds eight small-form-factor drives and connects through a Tri-Mode (x1) storage controller, supporting NVMe, SAS and SATA drives in the same cage.

The kit is designed to be combined with additional cages in x1 Tri-Mode layouts, helping you scale front drive capacity as storage needs grow. It works with PCIe-slot or OCP-slot Tri-Mode controllers, including the MR416i-p, MR216i-p and MR408i-p, as well as the -o variants. A matching controller and cable kit are required to complete the installation.
