Description

The 7.68TB NVMe Gen5 SSD is a read-intensive, hot-plug solid state drive in the EDSFF E3.S form factor with an EC1 (1T thin) carrier, built for HPE Gen11 and Gen12 servers. It pairs a PCIe Gen5 NVMe interface with TLC NAND and a 1.4 DWPD endurance rating, and includes SPDM support for device authentication. This PE1010 variant suits read-heavy workloads where storage density and fast transfer rates matter.

EDSFF E3.S replaces the traditional 2.5-inch small form factor, allowing more NVMe drives per server chassis. NVMe drives communicate directly with applications over the PCIe bus, which increases I/O bandwidth and reduces latency compared with SAS or SATA SSDs.
