Description

This tertiary PCIe 5.0 riser kit adds two full-height, full-length expansion slots to the rear of the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen12 2U server. The x8/x16 configuration provides Slot 7 as an x16 electrical slot and Slot 8 as an x8 electrical slot, both with x16 connectors, making it the Tertiary Riser Option-2 choice for builds that do not need a second full x16 slot.

Both slots are driven by processor 2, so a second processor is required whenever a secondary or tertiary riser is selected. The slots suit I/O expansion such as network adapters, accelerators and storage controllers. Only one tertiary riser can be fitted per server, and this kit cannot be combined with the Secondary 3 x16 riser.
