The Intel Xeon 6740P server processor is a 48-core, 96-thread P-core CPU running at a 2.1GHz base clock with a 270W TDP. Supplied as an HPE option kit, it suits dual-socket servers running virtualisation, databases, analytics and AI inference workloads, with up to 3.8GHz max turbo and 288MB of cache.

Built for FCLGA4710 platforms with 2S scalability, it supports 8 channels of DDR5-6400 ECC memory up to 4TB and 88 PCIe 5.0 lanes. Integrated Intel AMX, AVX-512 and built-in QAT, DLB, DSA and IAA accelerators help offload encryption, compression, data movement and AI tasks.
