Description

The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen12 NS204i-u Rear Enablement Kit is a chassis accessory designed to mount the NS204i-u V2 NVMe Hot Plug Boot Device at the rear of the ML350 Gen12 server. By relocating the boot device to the rear chassis, this kit preserves full front drive bay density for primary storage, while delivering high-speed NVMe performance and hardware RAID 1 mirroring for a resilient, redundant OS boot volume — all without complex configuration.

The hot-plug capable design supports easy maintenance and is compatible with both tower and rack deployments of the ML350 Gen12. Note that when an internal LTO tape drive is configured, the rear enablement kit is the only supported boot option for the NS204i-u V2. An additional Second CPU Fan Kit (P47902-B21) is required when the NS204i-u V2 boot device is selected. Get it now at iptrading.com.au — authentic hardware, reliable service.

FAQs

Q: What does the HPE P72360-B21 Rear Enablement Kit do?
A: It enables the HPE NS204i-u V2 NVMe Hot Plug Boot Device to be installed at the rear of the ProLiant ML350 Gen12 chassis, freeing up all front drive bays for primary storage use while providing a dedicated, hardware RAID 1 redundant boot solution.

Q: Is the P72360-B21 only compatible with the HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen12?
A: Yes, this rear enablement kit is specifically designed for the HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen12 server platform and is not interchangeable with other ProLiant models.

Q: Are there any additional components required when installing this kit?
A: Yes. When the NS204i-u V2 NVMe Boot Device is selected, the HPE Second CPU Fan Kit (P47902-B21) must also be installed to meet thermal requirements.

Q: Does this kit support hot-plug operation?
A: Yes, the NS204i-u V2 boot device installed via this rear enablement kit supports hot-plug, allowing for easier maintenance without requiring a full system shutdown.

Q: Is the rear enablement kit mandatory when using an internal LTO tape drive?
A: Yes. When the ML350 Gen12 is configured with an internal LTO tape drive, the NS204i-u V2 boot device can only be deployed using this rear enablement kit — the front boot option is not available in that configuration.
