The ProLiant DL380a Gen11 8SFF x4 U.3 NVMe drive cage kit adds a front drive cage with eight 2.5-inch (SFF) bays to the HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen11. It uses Basic Carriers (BC) and supports U.3 NVMe drives with x4 lanes per drive, giving the server a high-performance direct NVMe storage layer.

The cage supports up to eight U.3 NVMe drives balanced across two processors, using direct connection or dual controllers. It requires a Direct Attach Cable, PCIe Tri-Mode (TM) Cable or OROC Tri-Mode (TM) Cable to be selected. DL380a Gen11 CTO servers do not include a drive cage as standard, so one must be chosen at configuration.
