Description

The FPM-7630E is a hot swappable FortiGate 7000E series processing module with a dual CPU configuration, four NP6 network processors and eight CP9 content processors. It is the newer-CPU update of the FPM-7620E and acts as a high-performance worker module, processing sessions load-balanced to it by the FIM interface modules over the chassis fabric backplane.

The module connects to the chassis through 2 x 80Gbps fabric backplane links and 2 x 1Gbps base backplane links, and installs in slots 3 and up of any FortiGate-7000 series chassis. It can be mixed with FPM-7620E modules in the same chassis, although HA clusters require identical FPMs in the same slots.

Features

- Hot swappable module design for in-service replacement and expansion
- Hardware-accelerated traffic via four NP6 processors, fast-path accelerated through the FIM switch fabric
- Content processing acceleration via eight CP9 processors
- NP6 processors can also offload IPsec VPN encryption and decryption
- Can be mixed with FPM-7620E modules in the same chassis
- Front-panel STATUS, ALARM and POWER LEDs
