Description

The FIM-7901E is a hot-swappable SPU DP2-accelerated interface module for the FortiGate 7000E series chassis, with 32x 10GE SFP+ fabric ports, 2x 10GE SFP+ base channel ports and 4x GE RJ45 out-of-band management ports. It suits high-throughput data centre and service provider firewall deployments that need dense 10GE connectivity on a modular platform.

An integrated switch fabric and DP2 processors load balance sessions across the chassis fabric backplane to the FPM processor modules. The front panel 10GE SFP+ interfaces can also run as Gigabit Ethernet with SFP transceivers, and link aggregation groups can include interfaces from both interface modules in a chassis. It installs in hub/switch slots 1 and 2 of the FortiGate 7030E, 7040E and 7060E, and 2x SFP+ SR transceivers are included.
