Description

Power high-draw IT equipment from an Australian mains outlet with a 16A AU 3-pin plug to IEC 60320 C19 power cable. The Blue Cable Co CAB-C19-AU-1.8M is built for equipment with an IEC C20 inlet (matched to a C19 connector), commonly found on UPS systems, rack PDUs, enterprise switches, and servers.

Made with 1.5mm² conductors and a practical 1.8m length, it’s ideal for comms rooms and data centre racks where you need reliable power delivery and clean cable routing.

Important: This is a 16A Australian plug with a wider earth pin, so it will not fit a standard 10A household outlet. It requires a 16A socket.

Features

AU 3-pin to IEC 60320 C19: For equipment with IEC C20 inlets (servers/PDUs/UPS)

16A rated: Designed for higher-power rack equipment where 10A leads aren’t suitable

1.5mm² conductor size: Lower resistance and better suited to higher current applications

Rack-friendly 1.8m length: Clean routing in cabinets and comms rooms

Important plug note: 16A AU plug has a wider earth pin and will not fit a standard 10A outlet (requires a 16A socket)

FAQs

1) Will this plug work in a normal 10A Australian power point
No. This cable has a 16A AU plug (wider earth pin) and needs a 16A socket. If you only have standard 10A outlets, you need a 10A AU to IEC C19 lead instead (if your load and equipment allow it).

1) What is this cable used for?
It connects equipment with an IEC C20 inlet (using a C19 connector) to a standard Australian mains outlet, commonly for UPS systems, rack PDUs, servers, and enterprise switches.

2) Will this fit a standard IEC C14 inlet?
No. C19 cables are for devices with an IEC C20 inlet. If your device has IEC C14, you need an AU to IEC C13 cable.

3) Is this cable suitable for a UPS or rack PDU?
Yes—this is a common cable type for UPS and PDUs that use a C20 inlet, especially where a 16A lead is required.

4) What does “16A” mean and why does it matter?
16A is the cable’s maximum current rating. Higher-power devices can require a 16A lead; using an underrated cable is unsafe and can cause overheating.

5) How do I confirm if I need C19?
Check the power inlet on your device:

C20 inlet (larger, rectangular) → you need C19

C14 inlet (smaller) → you need C13
