Description

The Arista QDD-400G-XDR4 is a 400G QSFP-DD optical transceiver designed for high-density data centre and carrier interconnects over parallel single-mode fibre. Delivering 400Gbps aggregate throughput across four 100G optical channels at 1310nm, it uses PAM4 modulation with a gearbox DSP to convert 8x50G electrical lanes to 4x100G optical lanes — supporting link distances up to 2km via an MPO-12 APC connector. Its XDR4 architecture enables direct breakout interoperability with 100GBASE-FR QSFPs, making it ideal for spine-leaf upgrades, ISP aggregation, and mobile core deployments.

The hot-swappable QSFP-DD form factor is fully compliant with QSFP-DD MSA, CMIS, and 100G Lambda MSA standards, ensuring broad platform compatibility with Arista 400G switch deployments. Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) provides real-time visibility into optical performance parameters including temperature, voltage, and optical power. RoHS compliant and rated for standard 0°C to 70°C operating environments. Available now at iptrading.com.au — competitive prices and local support.

FAQs

Q: What switching platforms is the QDD-400G-XDR4 compatible with?
A: The QDD-400G-XDR4 is designed for use with Arista 400G QSFP-DD switch platforms, including data centre spine and leaf switches that support the QSFP-DD MSA and CMIS standards. Always verify compatibility with your specific platform firmware version.

Q: Can this transceiver be used in a breakout configuration?
A: Yes. The QDD-400G-XDR4 supports 4x100G breakout interoperability with 100GBASE-FR QSFPs. This allows a single 400G port to connect to four separate 100G ports, offering flexible cabling options in mixed-speed environments.

Q: What type of fibre cable is required for the QDD-400G-XDR4?
A: This transceiver requires parallel single-mode fibre (SMF) with an MPO-12 APC connector. It is not compatible with multimode fibre. Ensure your cabling plant uses MPO-12 APC-terminated SMF for link distances up to 2km.

Q: What is the maximum supported link distance?
A: The QDD-400G-XDR4 supports link distances of up to 2km over parallel single-mode fibre, making it suitable for intra-campus or inter-building data centre interconnects.

Q: Does this transceiver support Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM)?
A: Yes. The QDD-400G-XDR4 includes Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), providing real-time visibility into key optical parameters such as temperature, supply voltage, transmit power, and receive power to assist with fault diagnosis and link health monitoring.

Q: Can I purchase the Arista QDD-400G-XDR4 in Australia through IP Trading?
A: Yes. The QDD-400G-XDR4 is available now through iptrading.com.au. IP Trading is an Australian B2B IT hardware specialist offering competitive pricing and local support for Arista optics and networking equipment.
