Description

The NPort 5250AI-M12 is a rugged 2-port RS-232/422/485 serial device server that connects serial equipment to an Ethernet network. It is built for rolling stock and wayside rail deployments, with M12 connectors for Ethernet and power, 2 kV serial isolation and a -25 to 55°C operating range. This standard model has no conformal coating.

The unit complies with EN 50121-4 and the essential sections of EN 50155 on 24/48 VDC supplies, and runs from a 12 to 48 VDC input. A built-in watchdog timer, buzzer and real-time clock support dependable unattended operation, while HTTPS and SNMPv3 support help secure device management. Configuration is handled through a web console, with Windows and Linux driver support for serial port mapping.
