Description

The Moxa MGate MB3170-M-ST-T is a 1-port Modbus gateway that converts between Modbus RTU/ASCII serial devices and Modbus TCP Ethernet networks. It uses a 100BaseF(X) multi-mode fibre Ethernet port with an ST connector and is built for a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 75°C, making it well suited to industrial automation, utilities and harsh-environment installations.

Fibre Ethernet connectivity helps isolate serial equipment from electrical noise and supports longer cable runs between control rooms and field devices. The MGate MB3170 allows legacy serial Modbus instruments, meters and controllers to communicate with SCADA systems and PLCs over a modern network.
